What We Did

Project Overview

This Victorian coach house garden was completely redesigned to provide a contemporary space for relaxing and playing.

A blue grey granite paving was combined with reclaimed red brick to use the small changes in level in the garden to define different areas and to make a link to the Victorian walls.

Areas of lawn give a sense of space and quietness in the centre with paving and planting around the perimeter. A cedar slatted fence was erected to the boundary and used to enclose a play house and store in the corner under an existing large tree. A simple water feature gives a focus and takes the eye off the gates leading down into a lower, more wild, garden area behind. A similar palette of materials was then used for the small back garden that links to the garage.
